Relax….God already knows how your story is going to play out…

No matter if you are talking about a book or a movie or even the end of a ballgame, everyone is always anxious to see how it ends.

They want to figure out Who Done It.

They want to know if the boy gets the girl.

They want to know if their favorite team held on for the win.

Our life is no different. We all want to know how our story is going to play out and what the road is going to look like five or ten years down the road, or even further.

The wonderful fact of the matter is that God has already written your story!!!

God already knows how your life is going to play out.

He knew the day you would be born. He knows the day you are going to die. He knew the day you would get married. He also knew the day you would get divorced. He knew the day that you would be reading this blog and hopefully be encouraged.

Get where I’m going with this??

There is nothing in your life that happens that comes as a surprise to almighty God.

Some things may seem like a surprise or out of left field to you, but not to HIM.

So if we all believe deep down that God is all knowing and all powerful and has control over everything, why is it that we don’t trust Him and are willing to let his will for our life play out?

The fact of the matter is that most of the time we are willing to give God control of everything else but the things that effect us the most or the things we desire the most. We figure we can handle those ourselves since we know what’s best for our life.

We couldn’t be more off base.

We stress and worry and try to make things play out in our lives how we want them to, but that’s not how this works.

God already knows the struggles that you are facing.

He knows the love you have for that guy or girl that isn’t being reciprocated as you might like. He knows the hurt you feel and the loneliness inside you.

God knows how hurt you were by that friend. He knows that you loved them and did all the things you could and they turned their back on you and know you aren’t a part of their life anymore.

God knows how stressed you are about not getting that job, not feeling like you have enough money, not feeling good enough, and list goes on and on and on.

But the sooner that we realize that our stress and worry is not going to change the outcome of our life the more free and at peace we will be.

The world will say that you have to go out and seize your destiny and make things happen and get the girl, get the job, make the move, or that only YOU can control your happiness.

All of that sounds good on a framed picture you can buy at Hobby Lobby, but as Christians, we know that isn’t how this works.

The only person that you can truly rely on and that can give you sustainable happiness and joy is Jesus Christ.

It’s not found in your wife or husband. It’s not found in your kids. It’s not found in your friends. It’s also not found in drugs and alcohol and sex and the things that the world tries to find escape in.

Can you find happiness in a spouse? Kids? Family? Friends? Job?

Absolutely!!!

Those can be some of the greatest gifts and blessings that God puts in your life, but all of those relationships and trust you place in them are secondary to what our Lord and Savior can provide.

So if we would agree that our stress and worry don’t change the outcome and the plan for our life, when why do we do it?

Why can’t we just “Let Go and Let God”?

We all know so many Bible verses from Romans 8:28 to the 123rd Psalm and so many others that we read and can quote so often but why when it comes down to when the rubber meets the road we choose to cling to our fear and our worry instead of putting it at the foot of the cross?

Think back to a time or situation in your life that was difficult. Maybe it was the loss of a loved one, a divorce, a job that you got fired from etc.

I’m sure you didn’t know how you could get through it, get past the hurt or how you would ever move on.

Somehow you did!!!

You know how you did? God was with you!! He was there with you the entire time. You may not have felt him. You may not have talked to Him or acknowledged Him but He was there.

Just because you may not feel Him doesn’t mean that He isn’t there and that He isn’t working in your life and working to bring good and something positive out of your pain and struggles.

He is there trying to show you that you aren’t alone and you can never be alone as long as you have HIM and HE is truly all you need or ever will need.

God wants to take all your worry. God wants to give you a peace about your situation. All we have to do is receive it. The key is that we can only find it in HIM.

Once we truly come to the realization that God has a plan for our life and that our worry doesn’t fix the situation but only causes more anxiety, unrest and it takes our focus away from God and all that He has for us, we will finally have a peace within us that is unlike anything we can imagine.

It is a peace and stillness that most of the people in this world will never ever get to have inside them.

It is a peace and stillness that is priceless and supersedes anything negative that the Devil or the world can throw at you!!

So take heart in knowing that God is there with you, your story has already been written and if you trust and rely on Him for your life and your needs and your future that your story will play out in a more incredible way that you can even imagine.

The Bible says that man cannot comprehend the glory and blessings that God has in store for those who wait upon Him.

So If God wants the best for our life and He promises that He will work things together for the good, for all those that love Him and are called according to His purpose, what real reason do we have for not sitting back and trusting Him and letting Him allow our life to play out in the way that He wants.

It’s a story written by the best author in the world and it’s written about a person that He longs to have an intimate relationship with more than anything….. and that’s YOU!!!!

I can promise you this….. if you truly do give up control and the steering wheel to your life, God will take you places and give you things that you couldn’t find on your own and without his guidance!!!!

So sit back, don’t look ahead and don’t give up or give in. Just because you don’t know what lies ahead, you can take comfort knowing your life and no matter where you are on your journey, is going have the perfect ending because it is the ending that God designed just for you and for me!!!!

And who could ask for a better ending to our story than that???
